About Amberley. 

The relaxed North Canterbury town of Amberley is an idyllic place to call home. You’re less than 40 minutes’ drive to Christchurch (our second largest city), with its international airport, beautifully re-developed CBD and city amenities, but yet right on the doorstep of beaches, multiple ski fields, mighty rivers, and at the gateway to the renowned Waipara Wine Valley and the alpine village of Hanmer Springs. This really is the best of both worlds.

About The Site: 

Meticulous master-planning and engineering ensures that The Clearing will provide a shared connected environment, with community access to public open spaces, highly planted wetlands and a full community playground proposed for Stage 4 of the development. Connection to the wider Amberley community, which has so much to offer was a priority in planning. 

The site will have 400 sections in total when complete, 123 of which are in the currently selling phase 1 (releases 1 2 and 3). All are within a master-planned and considered community setting.  

The Clearing is positioned approximately 500m south of Amberley township and 43km north of Christchurch CBD. It forms a part of the large rural block which is located off Amberley Beach Road. Siteworks have started. 

Site clearing works have started at The Clearing - over 60 large pines and other species have been cleared for harvesting, and local contractor Weka Earthmoving will now start clearing the site for the earthworks contractor to start works in May. We are on track for completion July/August 2023!

The Clearing is proudly developed by UWC Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ian Cassels from The Wellington Company; established in 1990 he has been a major player in the development of urban environments and historic places in New Zealand, focused on revitalising places of interest and delivering development solutions founded on community building.

The engineering, geotech, survey and planning is being delivered by Davis Ogilvie - one of Christchurch's largest multi-disciplinary consultancies. Urban design is being delivered by Novo Group Limited, a boutique design practice located in Christchurch.
